Whisky Sheep Dip Blended Malt
700ml BOTTLE
Sheep Dip Blended Malt is a blended whisky consisting of whisky sourced exclusively from Scotland and produced only with malted barley. The name originates from a story, an anecdote, which alone can explain a lot about the Scottish people: Sheep Dip was in fact the name of a powerful insecticide used by Scottish farmers to keep sheep in safety (sheep), this wording instead came, applied on the barrels to illegally transport the whisky. Given the potentially dangerous content, police officers kept away from these barrels and the whisky could circulate illegally but without controls.
In 1974 in an Oldbury pub they thought of building a blended whisky (at the time it could be called vatted) composed of alone whisky Scottish and the owner combined 16 barrels from as many distilleries creating a brand of almost immediate fame. Whyte & Mackay thought it well to buy the brand and give strength to this bottle, selecting barrels from various Scottish distilleries, making the product suitable for an international audience.
