Whisky Sheep Dip Islay Blended Malt
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 700ml
Sheep Dip Islay Blended Malt is a particular blend obtained by combining exclusively whisky coming from the island of Islay, the island of whisky most famous peat in the world. The particularity of this island is the long tradition of whisky peat, produced on this island because – precisely – far from the mainland and therefore more difficult to control for the English tax agents and then due to the abundant presence of peat in the subsoil, a natural fuel used to stop the germination of barley and characteristic scent given to the barley itself. The island of Islay, in addition to offering numerous releases, is also a territory frequented by various independent bottlers who seek (but do not always obtain, given the scarcity of quantities) fine casks to insert in their blended malts, to which the whisky of Islay gives character and uniqueness.
Ian MacLeod is a rather well-known bottler in the world and has packaged the Sheep Dip series built around the Sheep Dip brand, or a chemical agent for sheep disinfestation, a name used by farmers to illegally transport whisky in oak barrels passing it off as a disinfectant to tax agents.
