Distilled in 1988 and aged in American oak barrels ex Bourbon refill for 25 years, with a production of only 2.700 bottles, this Single Malt Scotch Whisky Strathmill 25 Year Old was released as a Special Release by Diageo. It was bottled in 2014 at the alcohol content of 52.4% vol with a really neat package; comes a whisky light and cheerful with an enigmatic and tantalizing aroma, a complex palate and a long finish with a nice aromatic dryness.
N.B. This whisky it is not cold filtered and inside there are natural filaments that pass during filtration, without altering the quality of the product in the slightest.
TASTE: Creamy with the sweetness of beeswax and ripe red apple, an earthy note, with a trace of licorice and aged dried fruit, dark chocolate, then cough candies and cloves. Long finish with black tea and hints of oak.
