Talisker is undoubtedly one of the best known distilleries in the world: the typical maritime character combined with the peat lend unique notes to all the products of the Isle of Skye distillery. The Isle of Skye is in the north of Scotland and is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean: the weather conditions are extreme and the character of the Talisker distillate is proof of this. For almost two centuries Talisker has been known all over the world for its spicy and peppery character, an intense embrace of taste.
This Talisker Port Ruighe is a recent addition to the distillery's core range, expanding the classic line with a whisky unique: Port Ruighe is aged in oak barrels with a final period in Port Pipe, i.e. larger barrels that have previously contained Port. The name derives from the largest inhabited center on the Isle of Skye, a maritime center which during the 800th century had frequent contacts with the port cities of Portugal. To all this Talisker gives its unique and indomitable character.

The beginning is spicy and smoky, the intense Talisker distillate joins the softness of aging in ex Porto barrels, with citrus and fruity hints. It continues with notes of dried fruit and bitter cocoa, but it is the peaty part that takes over, leaving a long and persistent finish, finely satisfying.
