Whisky Teaninich 17 Year Old Special Release 2017
700ml BOTTLE
Teaninich is a beautiful distillery in the Highlands not well known in the world because most of the production contributes to strengthening some blended malts, making it difficult to savor this whisky in purity. One solution is linked to this Special release by Diageo: for some years now, the beverage multinational which owns around thirty Scottish distilleries has been selecting some casks from around ten of these and making them an annual line which takes the name of Special release. These bottles are extremely limited to a maximum of a few thousand for each label, making the collectible value worth keeping in mind.
In this case Diageo has selected some Teaninich casks – ex Bourbon and ex Sherry Amoroso – for a whisky in a limited edition of 5352 full-grade bottles, i.e. without dilution with water as happens in most cases. This is a tribute to the spirit of Teaninich, a little-known distillery but with outstanding qualities: to be known and loved.
TASTE: Dense and intense, with a marked note of tropical fruit, then spices and caramel, caramelized orange peel and white pepper.
AGING: American oak ex Bourbon barrels and European oak ex Sherry barrels.
