Whisky The Cooper's Choice Glen Ord 2011

700ml BOTTLE

The Cooper's Choice Glen Ord 2011 is a whisky extremely rare and valuable from a distillery as large as unknown, namely Glen Ord. Glen Ord is a distillery owned by the giant Diageo and in a few years it has dramatically increased its production capacity up to around 11 million liters per year, which makes it one of the largest distilleries in Scotland. The most of whisky produced here is used for Diageo's blended malts which have the most important share of the market, while a very small quantity is bottled under the name of the distillery and arrives on the market in decidedly lower numbers: in this case we are faced with a rarity, i.e. a single cask Glen Ord.

The cask was selected by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company and included in The Cooper's Choice collection, a series of whisky unique from many Scottish distilleries. In this case, cask 4009 gave birth to only 360 bottles after seven years of refinement, from 2011 to 2019. The alcohol content is high, no dilution with water has taken place, to better maintain the quality of the whisky.

TASTE: Intense and spicy, with a broad and incisive fruity component, citrus and red fruit, then spices and cocoa.

AGING: American oak barrels and ex Sherry barrels.

Distillates
Finishing American oak barrels and ex Sherry barrels.
AROMA Dense, lightly toasted, then dried fruit and ripe fruit, berries and spices.
