The Glenlivet has long been the best-known distillery in Speyside, so much so that, in the post-war period, many other distilleries in the area affixed the suffix Glenlivet to their name to better present the customer the geographical origin and, in part, to link to the success of The Glenlivet around the world. The distillery was founded in 1824 by George Smith, one of the first to want to get out of illegal distillation: the rest is history, with the bottles of the distillery known and available all over the globe: the audience of lovers of these malts is wide and will come. certainly satisfied with this special release, one of The Glenlivet's top production.
The Glenlivet Archive 21 Year Old is a whisky of Speyside aged for 21 years in partly ex Bourbon and partly ex Sherry oak barrels, to maintain the right balance and the correct elegance of the brand. In addition to this, the bottles of this 21-year-old Archive are limited for each batch produced: the best casks are hand-selected and blended by Alan Winchester, the master distiller of The Glenlivet.
TASTE: Large and elegant, with spicy and woody notes to blend with notes of ripe fruit and dried fruit, small red fruits and dark chocolate.
