Whisky Tomatin 12 Year Old
700ml BOTTLE
Tomatin 12 Year Old is one of the flagship products of the entire range of Tomatin, a great distillery in the Highlands which, after a not exactly positive period due to the crisis that has hit the whole world of whisky Scottish in the 80s, it had the strength to go back upstream and go back to proposing a good number of labels, often with an indication of the aging age on the label. The last few years have seen a significant increase in the consumption of whisky around the world, even in countries traditionally close to other alcoholic beverages, making it difficult for the many Scottish distilleries to offer whisky with important refinements on the shoulders.
In this context, in fact, the simplest choice is to avoid declaring the age and proposing whisky without numbers on the label, a widespread practice: Tomatin, thanks to the firepower of the more than twenty alembics, can distill large quantities of whisky and set aside a large portion for stock. Once refined, the casks are selected and also make up this Tomatin 12 Year Old: a mix of ex sherry and ex bourbon casks to enhance the strong but elegant character of the distillery.
TASTE: Elegant on ripe fruit, dried fruit and spices, hazelnut and raisins
AGING: American oak barrels, ex Bourbon and European oak barrels ex Sherry Oloroso.
