Tomatin 18 Year Old represents an almost unique opportunity to taste a whisky of great level aged for an important number of years, in this case exceeding the age of majority, eighteen years. Nowadays the whisky aged for years in oak barrels it is increasingly rare because many more consumers around the world have approached the wonders of the noblest distillate, making it difficult for distilleries to set aside a stock of barrels to then be able to obtain more whisky of important ages. Tomatin is one of the few distilleries to be able to offer a core range of bottles with adequate refinement because the large size of the warehouse, combined with the important production power given by the over twenty stills in operation, make it easier to store and let a large quantity of barrels of whisky.
In this case Tomatin 18 Year Old is aged in American oak and European oak casks which previously held Oloroso Sherry from Spain, the traditional method of aging the whisky more valuable.
