Whisky Welche's Whisky Single Malt
700ml BOTTLE
Welche's Whisky Single Malt represents a unique opportunity to taste a whisky produced in an unusual area when it comes to barley distillate. We are in Alsace, home to great still wines and some Cremant d'Alsace, with a climate particularly suited to the production of wine. Deciding to undertake the distillation of whisky in Alsace it might seem like a little madness, or at least an oddity, but the G.Miclo Distillery has decided to continue on this path and has been doing so since 2016 without second thoughts.
The area has a fair reputation for the production of fruit distillates, precisely due to the abundance of fruit trees and the relative presence of a distillery. The Miclo distillery is also the first to offer a whisky peated and often aged in French wine barrels, also to maintain a close link with the surrounding area. THE whisky by G.Miclo are without additions of anything, in addition to not being cold filtered and using local spring water to reach the typical alcohol content of the whisky world.
TASTE: Of good elegance, with ripe fruit, then dried fruit and nuts, with a discreetly spicy finish of coffee.
AGING: French oak barrels ex Sauternes (Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey 1er Grand Cru and Château Latrezotte).
