700ml BOTTLE
Single Malt Scotch Whisky which was distilled on the Isle of Islay from Port Ellen in 1983 shortly before the distillery was closed; in 2019 it was bottled after 35 years in ex Sherry European oak hogshead casks, thanks to the independent bottler Douglas Laing. It is released for the XOP (Xtra Old Particular) range at a natural alcohol content of 54.3% vol with a production of only 128 bottles.

The XOP bottlings represent Douglas Laing's “family jewels”; only the best Single Casks of the Laing family are released with this label. Each expression is bottled as Natural Cask Strength and presented in a luxurious wooden box, with a glass stopper and an individually numbered certificate and label.
TASTE: Notes of coffee and cocoa, smoky hints and red fruits; in the final spices, peat and molasses.
AGING: European oak ex Sherry hogshead cask.
