In Islay the inhabitants have been passing down stories and tales for years about the legendary dragon that haunted the island and was defeated by a brave warrior. Ardbeg wanted to pay homage to this myth by creating a Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a strong character, so much so that the director of distillation and creation of whisky of Ardbeg, Bill Lumsden called it "an authentic fire-breathing beast! ”; this Ardbeg is aged in heavily smoked ex Bourbon American oak barrels, with no age indication at an alcohol content of 46% vol.
TASTE: Oily, with the sweet smoke that dominates together with the hint of charred oak, notes of grilled meat combine with licorice; long finish with a slightly tarry aftertaste.
AGING: Strongly smoked ex Bourbon American oak barrels.
