The Brewdog 500 Cuts Spiced Rum is a spirit drink based on rum and botanicals. But let's start from its birth. It must be said that the Brewdog Distilling distillery was born as a brewery. Only over the years have they managed to capitalize on this distillation knowledge and start producing new distillates. The name they proposed for this rum instead has a very particular story concerning a woman Elizabeth Blackwell. This lady created the guide to phytotherapy by drawing and explaining how 500 botanicals called cuts are useful in medicine to prevent and treat various ailments and diseases. In this case, some of these botanicals have been designed for the brewdog spiced rum such as sweet anilla, ripe figs, ginger, orange, lime and hot spices are some of the botanicals included for this elixir, thus giving it a pleasantly spicy and sweet taste at the same time .
The base Brewdog 500 Cuts Spiced Rum is white rum obtained from sugar cane molasses and fermented with red wine yeast for seven days it is double pot distilled to release notes of tropical fruit and burnt sugar. The molasses obviously comes from the Caribbean, which arrives in the distillery already cooked, ready to be processed. Being a cured rum, several botanicals are then gently distilled over four hours with some fine-grained muscovado sugar for a subtle sweetness.
Between Vodka, Gin and Beer, therefore, this incredible spiced rum also makes room.
