INSIGHT ON WHISKY BUILLEIT BOURBON

The Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey It born as whisky of traditional inspiration, a tradition that even has its roots in 1800, when August Bulleit began to distill small quantities of whiskey to be resold at your bar, a small shop in the middle of Kentucky. Given the absolutely superior quality compared to other local attempts, August Bulleit thought it best to expand his business, also thanks to the knowledge on cognac distillation learned thanks to his French origins. The story ends in 1860 when August Bulleit mysteriously disappears on a business trip to New Orleans, and from that moment on the myth of Bulleit comes to a halt.

Let's take a step forward to recent days, when in 1987 Thomas E. Bulleit Junior - great-grandson of August Bulleit - founded the Bulleit Distilling Company in Louisville - also in Kentucky - with the precise intention of retracing the footsteps of his ancestor and making homage to that family history. Thanks to a series of positive economic circumstances, Thomas finds a favorable moment in which he scotch whisky it no longer has the same charm as previous decades and manages to establish itself on the market with a Bourbon Whiskey easy to approach without ever appearing banal, as good on its own as it is suitable for any type of mixing, from a simple highball to more elaborate cocktails.

This Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey is Thomas' traditional recipe, a recipe that includes a high percentage of whiskey of corn, a good addition of whiskey of rye and a small percentage of whiskey of malted barley: a combination that enhances every single ingredient with well-blended organoleptic notes that are sure to please. The Bourbon Whiskey of Bulleit must always be simple to approach, giving space to the pleasure of having a product of undisputed quality in the glass and above all with an eye on the secret recipe of Thomas's ancestor, without forgetting that many years have passed and that technology has made great strides forward, perfecting every aspect of production and distillation. The choice of raw materials favors local Kentucky products, also giving a boost to the internal economy, and the workforce is also local in an embrace of the community surrounding the distillery, just as was done in past centuries.

If Prohibition gave a special boost to small local businesses by essentially equipping every remote village in the Stars and Stripes Midwest with a small local distillery, the cities on both coasts required a large quantity of product for the small bars hidden from view authorities, making the contribution of the smuggling shippers and the underworld that followed its development fundamental. Today Bulleit manages to enchant both the coasts and the rest of the world with a few simple ingredients, making itself known through the recipes of the most famous bartenders in the world and constantly investing in research and development, without ever betraying its centuries-old origins and the pursuit towards the success that now seems to be upon us. A whiskey not just good, but also excellent.
