Caol Ila 1984 Private Collection Gordon&Macphail is a whisky belonging to the top line of selections by Gordon & MacPhail, one of the giants of independent bottlers. Caol Ila is a well-known distillery in the world from the island of Islay in Scotland, and over the years it has accustomed many palates from all over the world with its whisky young and finely peated, of great impact and liveliness. In this case instead, just in the spirit of independent bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail decided to select an ancient barrel filled in 1984 and kept it in the warehouses for over 36 years, giving way to the whisky and the wood to marry perfectly, waiting for the right moment to give birth to a small number of bottles, a good 177. These bottles are a testimony to the greatness of the Caol Ila distillery even on very old malts, being able to count on an expert selection and on the gradation original, without added water. A little gem, not to be missed.
