Caroni 12 Year Old is a rum coming from Trinidad & Tobago, more precisely from the Caroni distillery which has no longer produced since the end of the last century. The Caroni factory was closed around 2000 and since then the barrels in the warehouses have remained abandoned, without a sale or realization plan. After a few years, the legend of Caroni was born and the warehouses were acquired, creating a series of labels that today tell the story of a past of distillation that unites many countries in the tropical belt of the globe. Caroni no longer exists as a project but its legend lives on in the bottlings proposed subsequently, including this 12 Years of refinement: a marriage of several barrels for a rum that has a rather evident Trinidad imprint, in addition to the refinement that - in the case of rum - is more unique than rare. In fact, the warehouses undergo huge annual evaporation and it is difficult to find barrels with a few years of aging behind them, creating a rarity that has repercussions on the collectible (and organoleptic) value of bottles like this.
