Deanston 12 Year Old is a whisky nothing less than surprising: despite coming from a distillery that is anything but well-known, anything but central and which in the past was snubbed by most, today the situation has been completely reversed. This Deanston 12 Year Old is nothing other than the umpteenth confirmation of the technical expertise of the Deanston staff who, after extensive internal renovation work, was able to equip itself with the best technology to obtain the whisky as pure as possible, then exploiting the immense heritage of quality barrels that Deanston wisely manages today. This Deanston 12 Year Old is a big one whisky of the Highlands, preferring to play on elegance and organoleptic refinement instead of pushing on intensity like other colleagues in the area.

Curiosity: the building that contains the distillery until 1965 was occupied by a cotton mill managed by the same family that later founded Deanston, a very untraditional building that from the outside doesn't look like it could possibly contain a distillery. Seeing is believing.
