Whisky Glasgow 1770 Peated Release No. 1
CARTONED BOTTLE 500 ml
Glasgow 1770 is a very recent distillery: we are in the Lowlands area, a few steps from Glasgow, the second most important city in Scotland after the splendid Edinburgh. The working-class soul of the city had to live for over a century without a city distillery: the Glasgow distillery, founded in 1770 and always operational until the early 1900s, was recently reopened, in 2014, and from then on. experimentation is no longer stopped.
The malt of this distillery stands out for its elegance and modern cut, preferring for now short refinements, while the stock of more refined barrels is growing.
This Glasgow 1770 Peated Release No.1 is a peculiar product due to the peat, the ingredient used in the smoking phase at the beginning of production: peat is a natural and fossil fuel that gives unique notes to the malt with which it comes into contact. In addition to this unique ingredient, the distillery has decided to have this one refined whisky in a mix of casks: first passage ex Sherry oak casks and virgin oak casks in a final passage.
TASTE: The peat makes itself felt giving a smoky scent of excellent persistence, which mixes with honey and floral notes. Long spicy and enveloping finish.
AGING: First-fill European oak ex Sherry barrels and virgin oak barrels.
