Hudson Baby Bourbon
Short description
UNCRAFTED BOTTLE 350ml - Hudson Baby Bourbon is a unique product distilled from corn only and aged in small four gallon capacity barrels. The distillery is the first to reopen its gates in upstate New York after the dark period of Prohibition, giving its own modern version of how Bourbon is made in the United States.Whisky Hudson Baby Bourbon
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 350ml
Hudson Baby Bourbon is first whiskey produced in upstate New York since Prohibition closed all distilleries in the area, leaving distilling in the gray area of illegality. After more than seventy-five years, Tuthilltown has taken over the historic Tuthilltown Gristmill and turned it into a distillery, ushering in the revival of the whiskey made in upstate New York.
This Baby Bourbon not only has a particular history, but also the refinement to which it is subjected is unique: instead of using the canonical 225 or 228 liter oak barrels, this Bourbon ages in American white oak barrels of the size of 2 gallons, or just under four liters. The contact with the wood is high, and therefore the refinement is affected in speed, delivering a product that seems older than the actual age of refinement.
The raw material is 100% New York state corn, usually a blend of whisky of various cereal origins, in this case it was preferred to enhance a single raw material to further characterize the final distillate. The challenge of the Hudson distillery is certainly linked to the not exactly glorious history of the Big Apple as the homeland of noble distillers, as much as important consumers. In addition to wanting to make this part of the world known as the home of excellent whiskey, the Hudson distillery's mission is to offer contemporary and cosmopolitan products, much more than suitable for mixing but also for solitary consumption, with a few drops of water or a few ice cubes, or even neat - without anything else.
TASTE
The barrel gives many notes, with an important impact that gradually gives way to fruity and vanilla notes, without neglecting the sensations of wood and corn, the raw material, combined with notes of caramel and a discreet toasting. Unique and satisfying palate to the maximum.
