Kilchoman Italian Cities Edition No.1 Milan Blanc de Blancs Single Cask is a novelty for Kilchoman, the small but fierce agricultural distillery on the island of Islay: born in 2005 on the island home of whisky peated Scottish malts, in just a few years it has been able to establish itself throughout the world thanks to its authentic and proud malts. This Kilchoman Italian Cities Edition No.1 Milan Blanc de Blancs Single Cask is a tribute to Italy, a country in which Kilchoman is well known and appreciated, giving space to the first release for the series dedicated to Italian cities, starting from Milan, the city mentioned also on the label. To make this bottle unique, Kilchoman decided to use peated malt at 50 Parts Per Million (a rather high value) distilled in 2016 and aged for five years in a single barrel which previously contained whiskey American from the Buffalo Trace distillery, before a final passage of one year in a barrel that contained Blanc de Blancs champagne. The bottling dates back to September 2023, making this bottle a real gem.
