Whisky Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Inchmurrin
700ml BOTTLE
Loch Lomond is a distillery in Scotland that is not well known in Italy due to its rather short history (founded in 1964) but above all to the vicissitudes that forced it to produce for many years whisky of wheat and to sell it to other companies for the production of blended products whisky. Loch Lomond has been selling for a couple of decades now whisky according to its specifications and to put it on the market under its own name, creating a rather broad core range, also thanks to the different stills that populate the distillation room. In addition to producing whisky of malt, Loch Lomond produces several million liters of malt annually whisky of wheat.
This Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Inchmurrin is the result of a rather peculiar technical choice, namely the use of only the highest stills of the distillery, giving the final distillate great elegance and lightness: the high neck of the stills allows the heavy substance not to reach at the end of the distillation process, avoiding settling into the final distillate. The aging is long, over 12 years spent in ex Bourbon oak barrels of various types.
TASTE: Soft, round and not devoid of personality, on the one hand the freshly cut fruit and on the other the spices, with hints of caramel and honey. Of good intensity.
AGING: American oak refill barrels, ex Bourbon barrels and charred barrels.
