Octomore Edition 14.1 5 Year Old
700ml BOTTLE
Octomore Edition 14.1 5 Year Old is a whisky Scotch of great character from the Bruichladdich distillery on the island of Islay and rightly considered the whisky peatiest in the world. Jim McEwan is a legendary character in the world of whisky having linked his name to great innovations and tireless work in the environment, having practically single-handedly taken over and revived the fortunes of Bruichladdich, in a historical moment in which few loved and bought whisky Scottish. Today Bruichladdich thrives thanks to the histrionic personality of Jim, also the author of ventures and experiments including this Octomore: Octomore is a brand born almost for fun, made up of extremely peated bottles, well above the 50-55 Parts Per Million of other super- peated. Octomore plays precisely on the extreme, bringing the peat content to over 100 and sometimes over 200 Parts Per Million, building an organoleptic paradigm that is impossible to explain in words: it must be tried. This Octomore Edition 14.1 5 Year Old ages for five years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and has a peat of 128.9 Parts Per Million: the company's choice not to dilute with water but to maintain the high alcohol content is exemplary and allows us to know in detail depth a whisky now entered into legend.
