The Koshi-No Shinobu Pure Malt Lightly Peated Mizunara Oak is new to the Shinobu distillery. All the whisky of the distillery are created by the skilful mastery of the Master Blender Usami Ken, who creates incomparable Blended Malts, focusing on the maturation of the whisky. Usami Ken has a particular attention in the use of Mizunara casks, as well as in the refinement of his own whisky in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The Mizunara barrels today are highly sought after all over the world because they give soft, sweet and delicately spiced notes to the distillate.
In this case for the Shinobu Pure Malt Lightly Peated Mizunara Oak, as the name clearly suggests, the blend created is slightly peated while maintaining a robust, deep body. All the whisky Shinobu are without added color and are cold filtered to keep their characteristics unaltered.
