America Whiskey
In America the first distilleries of whisky they were born after 1700; here the distillate is called: Bourbon whiskey, or Tennessee whiskey or rye whiskey , Corn whiskey and is distilled 2 times.
The wording STRAIGHT BOURBON, indicates a whiskey quality and aged between 2 and 4 years.
BOURBON WHISKEY
It can only be produced in the United States, takes its name from Bourbon County in Kentuky and must contain 51% corn, with the addition of other cereals such as malted barley, rye and wheat; it must also be aged in new and toasted oak barrels for a variable time. Due to the different climate, here the whisky age faster. The peak is reached between the ages of 9 and 12. Its is a typically sweet taste.
TENNESSEE
WHISKEY
It has a taste tending to sweet but with a slight smoke flavor, given by its typical filtration. This kind of whiskey it must, in fact, be filtered through layers of maple wood charcoal before being placed in barrels for aging. It must also contain 51% corn. Here the very famous and appreciated JACK DANIEL'S DISTILLERY was born.
RYE WHISKEY
It must contain 51% rye, has a stronger flavor and is used more for cocktails.
CORN WHISKEY
It is the less common type, particularly because it contains 80% corn.
