Ballechin 10 Year Old is the whisky heavily peated produced since 2003 by the Edradour distillery. It takes its name from a small agricultural distillery in Pertshire which closed its doors in 1927, near the Edradour distillery. The "Ballechin" range featured different expressions matured in different types of barrels, including ex Sherry, ex Bourbon and a selection of wine barrels. This expression matured 10 years has been aged in ex Sherry barrels and ex Bourbon barrels, to create greater depth and greater complexity to the distillate. It is bottled at 46%, without cold filtration.
TASTE : It turns out caldo, powerful, notes of spicy wood, chocolate; in the final smoke and peat.
AGING: Beight American ex Bourbon and European ex Sherry barrels.
