Hatozaki 12 Year Old Umeshu Cask Finish is a whisky Japanese aged for 12 years of which a final part of several months in barrels that previously contained Umeshu, or a Japanese liqueur obtained from the maceration of ume, a local green plum. This liqueur is of great charm and is often used in mixing. The Hatokazi brand is owned by the Akashi group and is made up of a few selected labels obtained from private stocks that the family that owns Akashi and other brands has collected over the years, barrels coming not only from Japan but from all over the world. Japan allows the use of whisky also not indigenous to create whisky with Japanese label, and this is a splendid opportunity to see the fruits of marriages that are impossible to combine elsewhere, but which Japanese skill and tenacity have managed to manage in the best possible way, giving life to whisky unique and evocative.
