The Michter's distillery is in fact committed to offering the best whiskey not only from Kentucky but also throughout the United States, delving into every aspect of production, from high quality raw materials to refinement which, as in this case, really makes the difference. The barrels selected for this whiskey they are not the classic ones used by Michter's but, after an initial period of refinement, the whiskey it spends an additional period in toasted but not carbonized barrels, precisely to best enhance the delicate nuances of this spirit. The barrels are then selected by the production team to bottle only the best.
