Whisky Syndicate 58/6 12 Year Old
700ml BOTTLE
Douglas Laing is an independent Scottish bottler with a legendary history, thanks to selections always at the highest levels of care and quality. For some time the company has also been experimenting with the blend technique, or rather the skilful union of whisky coming from multiple sources and often with the use of not only whisky of barley, but also of whisky of wheat, as per tradition. This Syndicate 58/6 12 Year Old represents a blended whisky but with unique characteristics: everything originates from the discovery of some barrels in 1958, barrels containing a blend of various whisky with a recipe dating back to the end of the previous century. After a few years of further refinement, having reached the fateful 12 years of age, the whisky was divided among six men (including the warehouse manager), some bottles taken for consumption by this committee of six people and the barrels filled with new whisky. This barrel filling system is called Solera and several people, once they tasted the product, decided to join this committee. Today there are many more bottles than in the first "meeting" of the committee. In any case, the whisky it undergoes a final aging of one year in ex Sherry casks.
