700ml BOTTLE
The Koshi-No Shinobu Blended Mizunara Oak is the calling card of the Shinobu distillery and its master blender, Ken Usami. Shinobu started distilling a few years ago, having received the license only in 2017 and therefore, to while away the wait and to give future fans of the distillery something to try, the company saw fit to start spreading the name with a series of bottlings created by joining barrels from other Japanese distilleries. In reality this custom is quite common especially in Japan: to add a nuance even closer to the country of origin, Ken Usami thought of refining this whisky for a final period in Japanese oak barrels, the so-called Mizunara with porosity and micro-oxygenation different from the usual American or European oak barrels.
