Willett Small Batch Family Estate Rye is one of the former whiskey completely produced in the new plant of the Willett distillery: since 2010 the company has decided to take back the issue of distillation, investing in an independent plant and starting to market its own whiskey since 2014. Willett's story, however, is longer: in 1936 Thompson Willett founded the distillery with his name in plain sight, coming from a family resident in Kentucky since the mid-1700s. Mr. Willett thought it well, just three years after the end of Prohibition, to build a distillery in the courtyard of the family farmhouse and from then on the family business consolidated for a few decades. Distillation activities have only recently resumed and the first barrel was filled in 2012, thus starting the production of various references.

This Willett Small Batch Family Estate Rye is a whiskey of rye released in small batches, the union of a few dozen barrels to give way to a Kentucky whiskey always different but always connected to the Willett family.

TASTE: Still balsamic, with spicy notes that introduce ripe fruit and some sweeter touches of honey, caramel and cotton candy.

AGING: Virgin American oak barrels.
