Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is one of the few bottles available on the market for this historic distillery in the Scottish Highlands, with a history common to many other distilleries: born as a source of supply to create blended - i.e. whisky created by mixing selections from different distilleries to soften the taste and make them more easily approachable on the market - only in 1991 did it begin to give birth to its own bottlings, it being understood that most of the production remains to support the blended Dewar company, British giant.

In 1998 Bacardi acquired the Dewar group from Diageo and decided to give prestige also to the production of single distilleries, also introducing for Aberfeldy a line of whisky with different ages, to give the enthusiast the opportunity to know every detail of the distillery of the same name. This 12 Years is nothing more than the typical ABerfeldy malt subjected to twelve years of aging in oak barrels and with a light peat to connote the malt with a wisp of smoke. The packaging has been renewed recently and today it is difficult to drink one whisky with this relationship between high quality and low price.
