Arran Sherry Cask The Bodega is a whisky Scottish produced by the Arran distillery which matures exclusively in the best ex Sherry casks. The Arran distillery is a recent foundation but since 1995 it has managed to build a solid reputation thanks to a whisky of high quality and offered in different variants to allow the enthusiast to know every nuance of this malt from the Island.

Arran completely changed the packaging of its bottles a few years ago and at the same time as this change it introduced new products among which this Arran Sherry Cask The Bodega stands out: a whisky without age declaration and from the characterization relating to the refinement which only foresees casks that previously contained Spanish Sherry. Today these casks are increasingly rare because demand is high and costs are high, so it is difficult for each distillery to source this type of wood and make it the main ingredient of its own whisky.

Arran Sherry Cask The Bodega was born as a tribute to whisky of the past, in which the ex sherry cask was the main component of the refinement due to the proximity to Spain with which England had a flourishing trade in sherry, of which England was more than greedy. The Scots therefore had great availability of these barrels and thought it best to exploit them to refine their own whisky, a good choice that in the past has created many masterpieces and given fame to several Scottish distilleries. Today sherry is no longer widely consumed in England and this makes it more difficult to source this type of cask.
