Whisky Caol Ila Moch

700ml BOTTLE

Caol Ila is one of the most important distilleries in Scotland: we are on the island of Islay, home of whisky peated, and the distillery directly overlooks the sea, in an uncontaminated environment and in contact with nature, on one side the sea and on the other the luxuriant vegetation of the small Scottish island. Caol Ila was founded in 1846 and is now part of the constellation of Scottish distilleries owned by global spirits giant Diageo. The different refinements better outline the characteristics of each whisky of Caol Ila, but to get to know the distillery it is necessary to go to Caol Ila Moch, whisky of entry of the classic line. Moch takes its name from the Gaelic word meaning Dawn, meaning the beginning of the day and the path of the gods whisky by Caol Ila. Caol Ila Moch has been produced since 2011 and has since become irreplaceable.

TASTE

Important impact dominated by peat, to then move on to prolonged smoking accompanied by deep spicy notes, without compromise. The citrus notes found on the nose are reiterated, with lemon, and then conclude on spicy notes of white pepper, hints of malty and dry biscuits, dry pastries and custard.

AGING

American ex Bourbon oak barrels.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS ABOUT WHISKY CAOL ILA MOCH

As always when speaking of Caol Ila it is difficult to think of the island of Islay without this silent giant: despite being the distillery with the highest production on the island which stands at several million whisky per year, Caol Ila has managed to carve out an important space in the hearts of many enthusiasts for the always high quality level in any bottling. Starting from this Caol Ila Moch and going up the pyramid to more refined products or products with particular characteristics, the intensity and integrity of the spirit of Caol Ila never fails.

Speaking of Islay, or the cradle of whisky Scottish peat, Caol Ila has achieved an important notoriety despite the fact that there are extraordinary excellences, decidedly cumbersome neighbors that could obscure anyone's road. Yet the Caol Ila distillery has worked consistently reaching increasingly interesting goals, especially with the infamous Caol Ila aged for 12 years and, since 2011, with this Caol Ila Moch which is essentially the distillery's calling card. Caol Ila Moch in fact wants to express the peculiarities of the distillery of origin being able to also count on the youth of the distillate which, having no declared age, is likely to have an average age of less than ten years.

The characteristics of this malt are therefore youth, vehemence and intensity, all mitigated by the elegance of Caol Ila which never fails, thanks to the atmospheric agents of the most insular Scotland which mitigate and influence the work of man inside each bottle. Caol Ila Moch is the whisky favorite both to begin to know the island of Islay and its heritage whisky peaty, and to take a dip on these shores, perhaps after having tasted other peaty and other whisky in general, to remind every drinker where they started from. A safe haven.

As a lover of whisky, I couldn't help but let myself be conquered by the magical Caol Ila Moch. So I immediately rushed to write a review on this one whisky Moch. However, from the first glance at its data sheet, you can perceive the quality of this whisky, in fact after reading it I decided to give it a try. The mastery with which it was created makes the Caol Ila Moch a real gem and I recommend it to lovers of whisky peated. In my opinion it is a must-have if you collect whisky.
