Whisky Cragganmore The Distillers Edition
700ml BOTTLE
Distillers Editions are Single Malts that undergo a particular maturation process. Each of them, after having spent the normal period of aging in American oak barrels, undergoes a second (or "double") aging in a barrel that previously contained a fortified wine. The duration of this second maturation depends on the moment in which the aroma of the distillate is perfectly developed; generally between 6 and 12 months.
Cragganmore Distillers Edition is a whisky of remarkable caliber because it is aimed at giving new tasting notes to the classic malt of the distillery, thanks to the skilful double refinement performed by the internal team which, every year, tries to do better and to deliver an enveloping, soft but decisive product, without smudges or influences too drastic of the wood.
TASTE
Broad and complex on the nose, it has an important note of dried plums. Decisive, first sweet on the palate, with a background of smoke and fruit, malt and oak. The medium prolonged finish has refined notes of oak, banana, vanilla and cocoa. The closure is unpredictably dry.
AGING
The double barrel aging of Ruby Port influences this complex and smoky Single Malt, adding those characteristic notes of red fruits that give a vinous nuance to the whisky.
