Whisky Glengoyne 10 Year Old
700ml BOTTLE
Glengoyne Distillery is a tourist hotspot as it sits on the hills just a few miles from Glasgow city center, making it a kind of introduction to the huge spectrum of distilleries the Highlands can offer. It is not just a tourist destination, but a distillery that in almost two centuries of history has managed to get noticed for the great sobriety and elegance of the products distilled here, never over the top but always in tradition and in the improvement of production processes and in the search for raw materials. An element that adds to this picture is the extreme slowness of distillation, which takes more time than the average, and the use often and willingly of large oak barrels that previously contained Spanish Sherry, in the - successful - attempt to combining two worlds that are distant yet stylistically close.
As already mentioned, Glengoyne malt seeks elegance before power and expressiveness before alcoholic impetuosity, delighting palates all over the world starting from this 10 years of refinement, a bulwark in value for money and a bottle which must not be missing in any display cabinet that defines itself as such.
TASTE: Refined and soft, dried fruit and spices with nuances of caramel, hazelnut and honey, with a long fruity and elegant train.
AGING: American ex Bourbon barrels and European ex Sherry barrels.
