Grappa Beyond Dilidia Berta
700ml BOTTLE
Grappa Oltre Dilidia Berta is a grappa proposed by the Berta family which contains a history with solid roots in the 1950s in Monferrato: the Sicilian barrels arrived from Marsala where they had contained the famous egg Marsala, a liqueur which gave no escape to the remaining wood soaked in this liquid. The only solution to avoid having to get rid of the barrels - from true Monferrato peasant culture - was to refine the grappa in these barrels, an intuition of Mrs. Lidia, mother of Berta's current ownership and woman of Canelli DOC. Lidia proposed this solution to her husband Paolo to refine her grappas and the tradition has remained ever since. This Grappa Oltre Il Dilidia Berta is nothing other than the current declination of this process.
