Whisky Jura The Road (1l)
1000ml BOTTLE
Jura The Road is a release from the Jura distillery dedicated to the Duty Free Travel Retail circuit. The Jura distillery is the only one existing today on the island of Jura, north of the island of Islay, and for the past two centuries it has been proposing whisky: the date of foundation is in fact 1810, by Archibald Campbell, but the first distillery was closed in 1901 due to lack of commercial success. In 1963 the Charles Mackinlat company of Leith decided to re-propose a distillery on the Isle of Jura and thought well of referring to the first version of the previous century, however helped by the evolution of technology and by choosing, for example, tall stills to create a whisky more delicate and different from that of the neighbors (or rather the island) of Islay.
After having sold a large part of the production to the creators of blended wines, Jura has been on sale under its own label since 1973, up to this The Road: after aging in American oak barrels, the whisky it spends a final and further refinement in ex Sherry Pedro Ximenez barrels.
