Whisky Provenance Blair Athol 10 Year Old

700ml BOTTLE

Provenance Blair Athol 10 Year Old is a whisky decidedly rare because it comes from a single cask selected by Douglas Laing - one of the leading independent bottlers in the world - and included in the Provenance series, i.e. a wide selection of malts from various distilleries in Scotland, all from single casks and with a reduced alcohol content to 46%, giving enthusiasts the opportunity first of all to taste whisky with equal alcoholic characteristics and then, as in this case, to try expressions of distilleries rarely visible in first person, but often destined for blending to give life to the many so-called blended malt products that the market requires.

Blair Athol is one of the few still alive distilleries to have been founded in the 18th century, in 1798 to be precise, rebuilt after the Second World War and doubled in production capacity in 1973. Today the distillery is part of the colossus Diageo and there are few opportunities to try the pure distillate, while thanks to the independent bottlers this possibility is wider, as in this case. The barrel is number 14571 and contained 2010 distillate until December 2020, with a limited production of 354 bottles.

TASTE: Discreet spicy part of cinnamon and white pepper, bitter cocoa and dried fruit, ripe fruit and caramel

AGING: Hogshead oak barrels

Distillates
Finishing Hogshead oak barrels.
AROMA Tendentially sweet with notes of cereal biscuits and dried fruit, honey and black cherry
