Whisky Scottish distilled in 2011 on the Isle of Skye by Talisker, then released in 2021 under the Diageo "The Distillers Edition" range; this young 10-year-old Talisker undergoes a second maturation in casks that have contained Sherry Amoroso. An excellent combination of peat and sweetness.
Distillers Editions are Single Malts that undergo a particular maturation process. Each of them, after having spent the normal period of aging in American oak barrels, undergoes a second (or "double") aging in a barrel that previously contained a fortified wine. The duration of this second maturation depends on the moment in which the aroma of the distillate is perfectly developed; generally between 6 and 12 months.
TASTE: Peat that softens with sweet and toasted malt; then notes of oak and spices with ripe fruit. In the finish we find intense cocoa, vanilla and persistent peat.
AGING: American oak barrels and barrels of ex Sherry Amoroso.
