Whisky The Singleton of Glen Ord 38 Year Old
700ml BOTTLE
Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Glen Ord in 1981, which was initially matured in American oak casks for 12 years, then transferred to a selection of ex Bourbon, ex Sherry Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks, and new oak casks for a long second maturation aged 26. The result is an irresistibly rich, very refined and deep Natural Cask Strength of 49.6% vol.
TASTE: Thick and creamy texture with a vibrant and sweet, yet slightly spicy, intense and fruity start that suggests a cinnamon baked apple. Really long finish; the sweetness pervades the whole palate and leaves a tingle, while a trace of spice persists. With water it becomes lighter and longer, still leaving the memory of that rich Sichuan pepper warmth.
AGING: American oak barrels, ex Bourbon barrels, ex Sherry Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso, and new oak barrels.
